Museums & Libraries

Bring the whole family to the Fairbanks Museum, housed in a classic Victorian building where you'll find a dazzling array of animals and artifacts, dolls and tools, shells and fossils, and Vermont's only public planetarium.

Make a Pilgrimage to the Old Stone House Museum which houses 25 rooms of exhibits focusing on 19th century life in northern Vermont. The exhibits continue in Alexander Twilight's own house, two more historic houses, and a traditional barn.

Bread and Puppet Theater & Museum in Glover has one of the largest collections of some of the biggest puppets in the world.  During July and August, they perform their circus and pageant on Sunday afternoons.  On Friday nights during the summer, the Lubberland National Dance Company puts on their show.

There’s no shortage of Arts & Culture in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. At the Haskell Free Library and Opera House, you’ll find a variety of performances from “Annie” to the Vermont Symphony Orchestra. Down in St. Johnsbury, Catamount Arts shows independent films and hosts art exhibits, music and dance performances. Nearby, at the St. Johnsbury Athenaeum and Library, you’ll find 19th Century Paintings, Poetry Readings, and even reading activities for kids.
